34 days!

I can hardly believe that in 34 days I will be flying over the ocean to my new home for the next two years! I am both extremely excited and tremendously scared. I have never just up and moved somewhere - let alone a 3rd world, impoverished country on the other side of the world - ALL BY MYSELF! I often think I might be crazy or something!

Yet, despite my insecurity and fear, the Lord continues to accomplish His plan for my life. I know that this is in His will for me and am excited to grow in my walk and in my faith.

Details: I am working for PLAN Loving Adoptions Now in Monrovia, Liberia. I will be managing the small office there. I will be working with one secretary, one case worker, a driver and 10 foster families. The process of bringing an orphan to the States for adoption is about 8-10 months. I am so excited get to be involved in finding the orphaned or extremely impoverished children and giving them a chance to live.

Dream finally come true!

It is finally coming true! All those childhood dreams of saving dying babies in Africa are finally coming true! At 2:51pm today - June 8,2007 - I got the official phone call that I have been accepted to work with an Adoption Agancy in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa! I am committing to work for two years. I don't know if I am going to wake up and find out that this really is just a dream - or if mid-September I will really find myself eating rice and hauling water from the well!
